Living Inca Town
First local tourism development plan in the district of Ollantaytambo, created and coordinated by Turismo Cuida and the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR)
Guarantee Ollantaytambo’s sustainability, fostering its economic and social development through a strategic tourism plan that benefits the local community, coordinating efforts between the private sector, civil society, and the government, and identifying and mitigating associated social risks.
The Wallata Plan helped Ollantaytambo earn recognition from the UNWTO as Peru's First Best Tourism Village in Peru. MINCETUR also named Ollantaytambo the first winner of its First Charming Village in the country.This plan, updated through 2026 and supported by a municipal ordinance, remains a key local management instrument, bringing together the community of Ollantaytambo, the tourism sector, and the government for its implementation.
